Supply Teachers and Education Recruitment

The new Supply Teachers and Education Recruitment framework from Government Commercial Agency (formerly Crown Commercial Service) launched on 1 May 2026. It replaces the Supply teachers and temporary staffing (Stats) framework.

The framework provides a compliant, cost‑controlled route for schools, trusts, colleges and nurseries to access education staff through pre‑approved suppliers.

It also includes the DfE negotiated rate card which provides significant savings to schools.

The framework covers temporary, fixed term and permanent teaching and non‑teaching roles, including

• classroom teachers
• teaching assistants
• SEN specialists
• cover supervisors
• senior leaders
• operational staff such as administrators, IT, facilities, catering and transport staff

From September 2026, Academy Trusts must use the new framework as per the 2026 Academy Trust Handbook. Read the guidance to find out more about the mandate.

This agreement is offered in collaboration with the Public Sector Buying Organisations ESPO, NEPO and YPO, ensuring more capacity for dedicated support to schools.

• the option to hire a specific person using an agency with reduced supplier fees (nominated worker)

A nominated worker is one that is already known to the school. You can send them to register with the supplier for payroll purposes and to conduct the necessary safeguarding checks.
